As a Senior Partner at OODA, he has highlighted the weaponization of global IT supply chains by adversaries like China and Russia, stressing the need for public–private partnership and rapid collaboration to secure open societies.

Junaid Islam is a team member of Adaptarkon which is a veteran owned company supporting the US Navy. Junaid also serves as a technical SME to Sovereign Ventures which supports the US Government on money laundering and corruption investigations.

Junaid Islam has long blended technology leadership with civic and humanitarian service. In 2002, he joined the Human Relations Commission of Santa Clara County, ultimately serving as its Chair from 2007 to 2009—a leading local civic body addressing equity, inclusion, and community cohesion in Silicon Valley.
